Courting Change: Basketball is Getting Remixed

This Fall, the NBA and WNBA will have to make room for the MGBA (Mixed Gender Basketball Association, Inc.). The new professional league will have both men and women, playing with, and against, each other.
The world of major league basketball is ready for this gender-bending effort, at least according to the founders, John Howard, PhD— a former Harlem Globetrotter— and his business partner James Scott.
“It’s time to undo segregation on the court and break cultural barriers,” asserts Howard. “These are all athletes. Let’s not look at the physical appearance. Let’s look at whether they can dribble, dunk or shoot.”
