A Model Pair
BY// S. TIA BROWN
Some reality shows get it right: They offer honest portrayals of the intricate bonds that connect all relationships. Few mother/daughter duos embody beautiful flaws like the stars of OWN’s new reality series Beverly’s Full House, supermodel Beverly Johnson and her daughter, plus-size model Anansa Sims-Patterson. JET asked the ladies, whose show airs Saturdays, 10 p.m. ET, to go toe-to-toe answering the same tough questions— separately— about their relationship. The bicker-prone catwalk queens’ strides are more in sync than you’d think.
JET: What mother/ daughter moment do you recall most fondly?
Beverly: The first moment I laid eyes on her. It was an overwhelming feeling of bliss and joy.
Anansa: My mom being in the delivery room with me. I’m kind of weird about needles. Having my mom there and hearing her voice was comforting.
