August Wilson’s “Two Trains Running”
Written by August Wilson with the Goodman’s Chuck Smith serving as the director, Two Trains Running takes place in 1969 when the civil rights movement is sweeping across Pittsburgh. The promise for better days to come still isn’t a reality for some of the city’s residents who can be found gossiping about the neighborhood, dreaming about their futures and confronting their brutal reality at Memphis’ diner.
Memphis is at a crossroads and must decide if he should allow the government to take over his building or sell the property to a ruthless businessman.
