House Music: 25th Annual Chosen Few Picnic!
House Music has the power and synergy to get people on their feet and moving. It provides the ultimate “feel good” sounds that will easily have you leaving worry behind and inducing yourself to a good time.
Each year, Chicago becomes the mecca for a good ‘ol house music party with its annual Chosen Few Picnic held at Jackson Park on the city’s South Side. Bringing in nearly 40,000 people, the July 4th celebration is easily recognized as the biggest dance party!
JET is serving as the media sponsor and we invite you all to come out and have an amazing time. This year’s performances include GRAMMY award-winning recording artists Stephanie Mills, Evelyn “Champagne” King and Cory Daye, plus sets from guest DJs Masters At Work duo Louie Vega and Kenny Dope Gonzalez, Derrick Carter, Stan Zeff, Keith Fobs and Greg Gray.
And of course, rounding out entertainment are the Chosen Few DJs: Wayne Williams, Jesse Saunders, Tony Hatchett, Alan King, Andre Hatchett, Terry Hunter and Mike Dunn.
Adding to the festivities will be surprise performances throughout the day-long event and a special fireworks display as this year marks the picnic’s 25th anniversary.
We’ve also rounded up a few good flicks just to give a taste of what you don’t want to miss!
