Zendaya Scores a Pair of Big Wins

Disney star Zendaya Coleman is definitely on a roll. After being named to last year’s EBONY Power 100 list, the outspoken actress scored a coveted role in the upcoming Spider-Man reboot, Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Zendaya has become a role model over the years, not just because of her awesome style but also because she doesn’t shy away from sticking up for what’s right. After bullies came for her parents, the actress set them straight. And when a TV host made fun of her faux-locs, Zendaya schooled her on the ways in which Black hair has been discriminated against over the years. While she’s definitely been having a great run, things are about to get better for star.

Today, Disney announced Zendaya and the rest of the cast of K.C. Undercover will return for a third season…right after the star finishes filming Spider-Man.

Adam Bonnett, executive vice president, Original Programming, Disney Channels Worldwide, made the announcement.

“We’re very proud of the success of ‘K.C. Undercover’ and how popular it is across our different platforms,” Bonnett said. “The series will continue to deliver action sequences that push the boundaries of the multi-camera genre with the same great quality storytelling and talented cast led by the incomparable Zendaya and executive producer Rob Lotterstein.”

Zendaya added that she’s excited to continue working on the show.

“I’m happy I get to continue making positive television for kids all over the world,” she said. “Stay tuned for season three – it’s going to be next level!”

This announcement comes just days before Zendaya unveils her new fashion line, Daya by Zendaya.

This weekend, the actress will hold pop-up shops for the line in New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles.
