NBA All-Star Weekend turned out to be the perfect time for two rappers to announce their next album titles, with west coast spitter YG and Atlanta’s own 2 Chainz each revealing the names of their 3rd and 5th albums, respectively, over the holiday weekend.
YG revealed during The Boogie Festival, an all-day event in Los Angeles, that the follow-up to 2016’s Still Brazy will be the upcoming Stay Dangerous.
“Listen, I got a public service announcement and then I got one more muthaf*ckin’ song,” YG said. “If y’all one of my real friends, y’all gonna be real muthaf*ckin’ happy about this shit. It’s been a long time coming. My muthaf*ckin’ new album on the muthaf*ckin’ way, Stay Dangerous, god dammit. Y’all the first ones to hear that shit.”
2 Chainz also announced the follow-up to his 2017 hit, Pretty Girls Like Trap Music this weekend, revealing on Instagram that his 5th album shall be titled, Rap or Go To The League.
With the height of racial tensions across America I felt I should do my part in explaining some of the brain washing formulas used in my community , this album not only touches on those who did succeed thru entertainment but those who didn’t ! Welcome to Rap or Go TO THE LEAGUE ! My 5th solo studio album and project that shows continued growth , success , and motivation which is playing a role in the shift of the trap paradigm ✌🏿⛓ #ROGTTL @airsignusa
The announcement comes just days after the release of 2 Chainz’s latest EP, which includes YG collaboration, “PROUD,” also featuring Migos member, Offset.
