‘Wheel of Fortune’ Contestant Speaks Out

Indiana University freshman Julian Batts makes million-dollar mistake on "Wheel of Fortune."

Insert face palm here.

The Indiana University freshman who famously flubbed several responses on Friday’s episode of Wheel of Fortune, has spoken out about the now viral video on Good Morning America.

A mispronunciation of the word “Achilles” cost Julian Batts $1 million. But the fails didn’t stop there. Batts made two more costly mistakes, but he eventually won the game with $11,700.

In the interview with GMA on Monday, Julian Batts said:

“It just kind of hit me like a train and I really didn’t know how to react to it – the game continued on and [another contestant from] Texas A&M, she solved it and it hit me right then and there that it was Achilles,” he said. “I didn’t feel like I made a mistake but I feel like I solved the puzzle entirely and all I had to do was read it and I just went for it and I did my best.”

Whoomp whoomp.
