J.K. Rowling just dropped a ton of deets about the forthcoming Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them sequel, and we’re just praying that it’s better than the first flick.
Set during the 1920’s (seventy years before Harry Potter) the Fantastic Beasts franchise follows Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) a magizoologist who wrecks havoc on NYC when his suitcase full of magical creatures gets lose and begins terrorizing the city. As millennials, we know all about Lord Voldermort and his diabolical plots and schemes. However, during Newt’s time, he had to deal with the dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald (Johnny Depp). At the end of the first film, Newt leaves NYC and Grindelwald is momentarily thwarted only to break free. This obviously means terrible things are about to come to pass.
Rowling announced on Twitter recently that she has finished the script for the sequel and that filming is set to begin this summer. The sequel will be set in Paris, France, and the U.K. and will focus on Grindelwald terrorizing the entire world.

Though the Harry Potter author didn’t give intricate details about the film’s narrative, we do know that new characters will make appearances including, Zoë Kravitz as Leta Lestrange, Jude Law as Albus Dumbledore and Callum Turner as Theseus Scamander, Newt’s brother.
Fantastic Beasts 2 is currently scheduled to be released in cinemas on November 16, 2018. It will be the second in a total of five films. Are you excited about Fantastic Beats 2, or should we have stopped when Harry Potter ended?
