Trevor Noah has officially taken over the reigns of The Daily Show, making an impressive debut as the series’ new host Monday night.
The comedian began by expressing his gratitude for his latest gig.
“This is surreal for me. Growing up in the dusty streets of South Africa, I never dreamed that I would have two things – an indoor toilet and a job as host of The Daily Show,” he said. “Now I have both, and I’m comfortable with one of them.”
After his brief intro, the 31-year-old continued “the war on bulls**t” as he kicked off a discussion on a range of topics including Pope Francis and John Boehner’s resignation.
Kevin Hart later joined him as his first guest, and The Real Husbands of Hollywood star informed audiences that the Kevin Hart takeover is still in full effect. His What Now? international tour and Ride Along 2 film are on deck for the top of 2016.
