Watch: Adepero Oduye’s “Breaking In”
What started out as an innocent and playful walk through the neighborhood with a friend, eventually turned into a first and lasting experience for one teen in Adepero Oduye’s short film, “Breaking In.”
Taking on a topic that has become all too familiar, the short film tackles police harassment and follows a young Black male who is stopped by the NYPD for the first time.
The film has been hitting the high school screen circuit engaging students with conversations about justice, power and innocence.
