Disney brought Louis Sachar’s Holes to life back on 2003, and we have never been the same.
Disney Channel kid Shia Labeouf killed it as Stanley Yelnats IV, a good-hearted teenager who gets into a world of trouble and gets sent away to Camp Green Lake, a juvenile detention camp for boys. It was Labeouf’s first major film role, and it catapulted him into the spotlight as a true Hollywood contender. However, if you lived for Holes, then you know the real star of the film was Khleo Thomas, who played the adorable but mute Zero.
Though Lebeouf has been in the spotlight for doing everything from punching Nazis to watching marathons of his own films, we’ve always wondered what Khleo Thomas has been doing these days. In 2005, he starred in Roll Bounce, but afterward, Thomas pretty much slipped under the radar. Buzzfeed recently stumbled upon the 28-year old’s Instagram account and let’s just say that he’s quite grown up now.
These days, Thomas runs Slick Living TV a Snapchat operation, and with over 200,000 followers on Instagram and counting, it’s clear that the world has not forgotten about him. When Thomas isn’t running Slick Living TV or selling Holes related merch, he’s also a rapper. You can check out his song, “Where Do We Begin” below.
Though we must admit that we miss the curly hair we fell in love with back in the early 2000’s, we certainly don’t mind this very grown up version of Zero either.
We wonder when Disney Channel will be showing Holes next?
