Tyler, The Creator just landed on Adult Swim with his new animated series, The Jellies!
The 26-year old Odd Future artist is about to return to television. Adult Swim just announced a new animated series from Tyler, The Creator and writer Lionel Boyce called The Jellies! The series is set to hit the network this summer and follows 16-year-old Cornell, a human who was adopted by a family of jellyfish at birth. Devastated and shocked by the news of his adoption, Cornell’s life begins to spiral out of control. As he tries to find himself, his family and friends continually find themselves in rather precarious situations.
Tyler, The Creator isn’t exactly a stranger to this side of entertainment. He’s directed many of his music videos including 2016’s “Buffalo,” and he’s appeared in various TV shows including Adult Swim’s Black Dynamite. He also, starred in the Adult Swim series, Loiter Squad with his Odd Future bandmates when it aired from 2012-2104. Loiter Squad was a live-action sketch comedy series that featured everything from pranks to music. However, it looks like this time he will be taking the reigns. Tyler will be lending his voice to The Jellies! as will Boyce, Phil LaMarr, Blake Anderson, AJ Johnson and Kevin Michael Richardson among others. The Odd Future rapper will also create the series’ musical score and original composition.
The Jellies! doesn’t have a set release date just yet, but we will be sure to let you know when it does. Until then, you can peep the series’ trailer below.
