‘Thicker Than Water’ Mixes Riches and Religion

Move over Kardashians! There’s a new family coming to reality TV. Say hello to the Tankards!

Bravo’s newest reality show Thicker Than Water follows the life of gospel artist Ben Tankard and his large Southern family as they try to coexist under one roof. Self-proclaimed the “Black Brady Bunch,” the Tankards believe in living the lavish lifestyle while still upholding their Christian values, which happen to include the belief that “God wants us all to be millionaires.” Go figure!

Throughout the season, viewers will get a peep at how religion and riches both come into play in their daily lives, while each member of the Tankard clan tries to navigate and excel in their own avenues. Hmm…this concept sounds familiar!

Even though it’s nice to see a wealthy Black family portrayed in a positive light on reality TV, these types of shows are usually always hit or miss…especially when religion is involved. Can you say Preachers of L.A.? What do you guys think? Will Thicker Than Water be a hit? You be the judge.

Check out a preview of Thicker Than Water below and tune in when it premieres Sunday, November 10 at 9pm ET/PT on Bravo.
