New Music From A Tribe Called Quest On the Way!

Tribe Called Quest

Here we go, yo!

It’s been nearly 16 years since hip-hop has received a collaborative project from A Tribe Called Quest. When the fellas dropped The Love Movement, their fifth studio album, it was also announced that it would be their last.

Since the passing of Phife Dawg, the longing to hear Q-Tip, Jarobi and Ali on wax together, if only for one track, became even stronger.

Well, hip-hop fiends and lovers of the Tribe, we’re all in luck, because ATCQ is reuniting–not only for a song, but for an entire album!

Adding to the surprising news, it’s also been discovered that prior to Phife’s death, the crew had been quietly working on their sixth studio album. So, does this mean, we’ll also get to hear some bars from the “five-foot-assassin” on the new project? Please let this be a yes!

The news of another Tribe album hit the Interwebs following a brief conversation music executive L.A. Reid had with the popular Rap Radar podcast.

“You know what I’m excited about though?” Reid teased. “A Tribe Called Quest has an album coming.”

Then Reid gave a few more details.

“It’s an album that [the members] recorded before Phife passed away. I’m really happy about it. It’s really something special. Phife is there [on the album]- the whole group. It’s great too.”

This will surely be a treat and something extremely special for hip-hop and arts culture. We’ll keep our ears to the street for a release date.
