Trial Date Set For San Diego Rapper Over Lyrics
How ironic. As I am writing this post, Eminem’s song “Sing For A Moment” is playing through my earphones.
The rap lyrics:
They say music can alter moods and talk to you
But can it load a gun up for you and cock it too?
Tiny Doo can certainly relate. The San Diego rapper is facing serious prison time due to his song lyrics. Law officials connected the 33-year-old rapper to a series of shootings that took place in 2013. But not because he was involved. This connection comes simply due to lyrics delivered on his rap album.
Tiny Doo, real name Brandon Duncan, plead not guilty to gang conspiracy accusations.
His lawyer stated “there is absolutely no connection” as his client will soon face a trial for crimes that took place in 2013 when the music at hand was released in 2012.
San Diego prosecutors will be acting under a newly implemented gang conspiracy law that allows for the charging of gang affiliates in the crimes of members if they promote or benefit from them in any way.
Duncan’s trial is scheduled to begin on January 23, 2014.
