Trevor Noah is Heading to Johannesburg

Trevor Noah is heading back to his hometown of Johannesburg.

No, he’s not leaving his post as the host of The Daily Show, but he is taking on a gig as the host of the MTV Africa Music Awards.

The Comedy Central host will bring his comedic rhetoric to center stage in celebration of African music and artists.

“I’m a huge fan of African music and achievement, and it’s going to be a massive pleasure celebrating them both at the MTV Africa Music Awards 2016 in my hometown of Johannesburg,” Noah said in a statement.

The two-hour awards show is set to take place at the Ticketpro Dome on Oct.22 and will broadcast live on MTV Base and MTV Africa. The show will also air worldwide on partner stations, and MTV channels will air a one-hour MAMA-themed edition of MTV World Stage.
