‘Tom Joyner Morning Show’ Off-Air in Dallas

In a bit of surprising news, listeners who are used to The Tom Joyner Morning Show being a part of their daily routine on K-Soul 94.5 in Dallas will now have to find a replacement.

According to WFAA, Radio One, the networking format that housed Joyner’s Dallas morning show has re-routed and is now anchoring a new platform called Boom. The goal is to attract the ears and indulgence of Generation X.

This, of course, is no small feat as Tom Joyner was a staple in the morning show hour. The station heads are aware that this change may cost them dedicated Joyner fans, but are still in hopes that ratings will see a bigger increase.

All is not completely lost. The radio pioneer is still heard by more than 8 million listeners across at least 100 stations.

The news, however, does serve quite a sting as the pulling of his show in Dallas, means his voice is no longer across the airwaves of his hometown.
