They don’t make girl groups like this anymore!
TLC may not be making much music these days but that doesn’t mean they aren’t making moves. On top of having a VH1 biopic in the works and making a rare cameo on J.Cole’s new album Born Sinner, the group was also awarded the “Legend Award” at the MTV Video Music Awards in Japan last night (an honor only given to Michael Jackson in the past). Making their long-awaited return to the stage, the five-time Grammy winning group, minus the late Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, accepted the honor in front of thousands of cheering fans and brought down the house with a medley of their greatest hits.
If you didn’t get to tune in to their performance last night, this reportedly isn’t the last we’ll hear from TLC. T-Boz and Chilli’s names are on the bill of artists to perform at VH1’s Mixtape Festival this summer and the two are also said to be hitting the road for some tours and getting back in the studio for some highly anticipated new music.
Hmm…Do we smell a comeback?
Let’s hope so.
