VH1 is adding another scripted series to its roster, and it’s shaping up to be good. Based on the novel Satan’s Sisters by former View co-host Star Jones, the network will roll out Daytime Divas, which takes a behind the scenes look at all the drama on a talkshow called “The Lunch Hour.”

Survivor’s Remorse star Tichina Arnold has just been added to the cast as Mo, one of the women on the show, and she’ll be joining Vanessa Williams who stars as Maxine, the creator and one of the co-hosts of the popular show.

If you think Daytime Divas sounds suspiciously familiar, you’d be right. Jones wrote the book after exiting ABC’s the View in 2006, which led to a rumored falling out with her Barbara Walters. She based some of Satan’s Sisters on the women of The View and all of the juicy drama they stirred up off camera.

Earlier this year, Jones said she’s excited her book will be turned into a show.

“I’m so excited that ‘Satan’s Sisters,’ which was such a fun book to write, is finally coming to the small screen,” she said. “I would be lying if I said that ‘Satan’s Sisters’ wasn’t influenced by the soap opera life of daytime TV, but it is a work of fiction. All the characters are inspired, in parts, by someone I’ve worked with, worked for, interviewed, was interviewed by and/or even prosecuted.”

In addition to Arnold and Williams, Daytime Divas will star Chloe Bridges, Camille Guaty, Fiona Gubelmann, and McKinley Freeman. The show begins shooting later this month in Atlanta.
