Empire’s Bryshere Y. Gray and Sierra McClain are set to join Teyana Taylor in Honey 4.
A few weeks ago, Teyana Taylor set her Twitter timeline ablaze when she let it slip that she would be starring in Honey 4. At the time, very few details about the forthcoming movie were available except for the fact that it’s being filmed in Atlanta. Now we know the fourth installment in the dance-drama franchise is going to have some major star power.
Set in Atlanta’s underground dance scene, the latest installment of Honey will debut in 2018, fifteen years after the original (which jumpstarted Jessica Alba’s career) hit theaters. Both Bryshere Y. Gray and Sierra McClain have proven their musical and dance abilities on Fox’s hit drama Empire and Gray shined earlier this year in the BET hit biopic, The New Edition Story.
General Manager and Executive Vice President of Universal 1440 Entertainment said of the newest film,
“We are thrilled to celebrate the 15th anniversary of this groundbreaking series with an all-new production starring some of the most talented and sought-after young stars today. Longtime fans and newcomers alike will all be thrilled by the return of the franchise’s signature blend of music, dance, romance, and ambition.”
Stomp the Yard scribe Robert Adetuyi, and director Billie Woodruff who directed the first three films are taking the reigns once more.
We still have no idea what the plot of Honey 4 will be about, but with Taylor, Gray, and McClain onboard, we’re definitely interested to see how it will all come together.
