Teyana Taylor Lands Role on ‘The Breaks’

Post-VMAs glow-up, Teyana Taylor is on a roll. The multi-talented star has already proven her affinity for the 90s in her video ‘Undercover‘ – now it looks like she’ll be bringing that energy to the small screen.

The G.O.O.D. Music/Def Jam Recordings artist, Teyana Taylor has landed a reoccurring role on VH1’s The Breaks

Inspired by “The Big Payback,” a narrative history of the hip-hop business written by Dan Charnas, The Breaks is executive produced by The Wire’s Seth Mann and Mozart in the Jungle’s John J. Strauss.

The original film, which aired on VH1 in January, followed three young friends fulfilling their hip-hop dreams in 1990 NYC. The series will continue to explore their triump and heartbreak while attempting to make their mark in hip-hop.

Taylor will join Wood Harris, Mack Wilds, and Antoine Harris, among others in the production. She’s played in urban classics like Brotherly Love and Madea’s Big Happy Family, so we can’t wait to see what she brings to VH1.
