What’s Next For ‘Creed’ Star Tessa Thompson?
Tessa Thompson was the envy of many ladies who adore Michael B. Jordan when she starred alongside the doe-eyed cutie in the box-office hit, Creed.
Even though she had the affection of our #MCE, Thompson’s acting chops could not be denied, and we were secretly cool with Bianca and Adonis’ relationship.
Now, Thompson is heading back to the big screen, only this time she’s switching things up to play the classic hero, Valkyrie, in Marvel’s Thor: Ragnarok.
Fans are loving the casting decision and the multi-talented actress is a trending topic on twitter.

I’m excited to see Tessa Thompson play a Valkyrie. She was so soft and vulnerable in Creed. I’m looking forward to seeing her range.

Unfortunately not everyone seems to be on #TeamTessa. After Entertainment Weekly failed to shout out the Dear White People star, they were promptly called out for the slight.
Your tweet had 30 characters left and yet you couldn’t list Tessa Thompson? https://t.co/CVvrTd7FHG

Of course there were a few race-based comments, too. Apparently some folks are missing the intent of Thor’s filmmakers to shake things up in Hollywood and diversify the business.
My only concern for Thor: Ragnarok: why is mocha Tessa Thompson playing the pale-as-vanilla Valkyrie?!? I trust Marvel but this is edging.

Eh…are we NOT moving past this already?! Geesh.
Later for the hate! Right now let’s celebrate the fact that #BlackGirlMagic is happening once again!
The adventurous fantasy film is working toward a November 2017 release.
