Taraji P. Henson Lands New Movie Role

Taraji P. Henson is headed back to the big screen, because she has just scored a role in the upcoming flick Hidden Figures.

Based on Margot Lee Shetterly’s book, Hidden Figures: The Story of the African-American Women Who Helped Win the Space Race, the film follows NASA mathematician Katherine Johnson as she and her colleagues work on space missions.

Henson will play Johnson, and she couldn’t be more excited. “This project is so important. Honored to portray #KatherineJohnson…,” she wrote on Twitter.

The project is set to hit the big screen next January in conjunction with Martin Luther King, Jr. day.

Congrats, Taraji!
