Tamar Braxton Exits DWTS
Say it ain’t so, our favorite dancing diva has left the ballroom.
Tamar Braxton took to Instagram Wednesday to announce she’s leaving the Dancing with the Stars competition due to health problems.
“With a Heavy heart I regret to inform you that my season of #dwts has to come to an end along with the rest of my tour dates,” the singer said.
As the competition started Monday night and the stars were being named, Braxton was notably missing from her pro partner Val Chmerkovskiy’s side.
She had been admitted to the hospital reportedly for pneumonia during dress rehearsal and looked like she wasn’t going to dance at all. The stars had two dances to do but Braxton missed her solo performance with Chmerkovskiy and the judges had to judge her taped dance from rehearsal earlier in the day.
The R&B singer made it back to the DWTS studio just in time to dance with Nick Carter for their partnered showstopper dance to “Love” from the Cirque du Soleil’s Beatles tribute show in Las Vegas.
Between the combined scores, Braxton earned a 49 out of 60 for the night and was safe from elimination until next week.
In the prerecorded package, you could tell the singer might have been overworking herself between the competition, her daytime talk show duties on The Real and touring with Kem.
Braxton said on Instagram the situation was a lot worse than she thought and she is dealing with blood clots on both sides of her lungs.
This is the second time a star had to leave the compeition for health issues with Kim Zolciak-Biermann leaving earlier in the season after having a mini stroke.
We’re sad to see her go but wish her all the best! Get well soon, Tamar!
