Looks like ABC’s mystery drama Castle is undergoing a few changes: Not only will it not be renewed after it’s ninth season but the show is also marking the exit of star Tamala Jones.
In a statement to Deadline, the network shared their praise for the actress on the show. “Tamala Jones has been an integral part of the series and we are grateful she was a part of Castle.“
Jones played opposite the show’s lead character (Stana Katic, who played Detective Kate Beckett) as Lanie Parish, the intelligent medical examiner who was Beckett’s close friend and confidante. “I’ve had so much fun playing the wonderful and unfiltered Lanie over the past eight seasons,” Jones said in a statement to Deadline. “I will greatly miss the cast and crew – it’s been a privilege getting to work with this incredibly hard working group of people.”
Best known for her roles in cult classics like Next Friday, The Wood, and Two Can Play That Came, the film and television star joined Castle in 2009. “Thank you to ABC for this opportunity and to the fans for their unwavering support. It’s been an incredible journey and I can’t wait for what lies ahead!”
