‘Star Wars’ Is Fresh & New In This New Behind-The-Scenes Footage Of ‘The Last Jedi’

Disney just dropped some behind-the-scenes footage from Star Wars: The Last Jedi, and we got a ton of hints and tiny details about what’s to come.

First time Star Wars director Rian Johnson has taken the reigns of Episode VIII, and from what the footage suggests his vision is going to make everything feel “fresh and new.” We’re most intrigued by what might happen with John Boyega’s character Finn. A former Storm Tropper, Finn has a dope new look. At one point he’s even seen wearing a Resistance Pilot flight suit. Could Finn be manning one of those massive gunships that we saw in the space battle from the teaser trailer?

We do know that The Last Jedi will be a legendary adventure that will uncover long hidden secrets and mysteries. According to Boyega, this Stars Wars trilogy is being “shifted in an opposite way” than what fans might expect. The 25-year old actor is essentially telling us to forget everything we knew by the end of The Force Awakens and buckle up. As the late Carrie Fisher says in the footage, The Last Jedi “is about family and that’s what’s so powerful about it.” Check it out for yourself below.

Now we just need to figure out who The Last Jedi actually is. All signs (so far) seem to point to Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), but with the twists and turns that occur in this expansive franchise — we wouldn’t put money on that just yet.

The Last Jedi hits theaters Dec. 15.
