Spotify Commemorates Black History Month

To celebrate Black History Month, Spotify is honoring one iconic musician each week throughout the month of February.

First up is Aretha Franklin followed by Jimi Hendrix, Diana Ross and James Brown.

Every week, listeners will be able to hear a different playlist that includes the top 20 streamed songs of that artist of the week

Additionally, a new tool called “Influence” showcases how these specific singers have resonated with the musical styles of today.

Simply enter the name of a popular artist, and Spotify will create another playlist that contains tracks from both the artist of the week and musician of your choice to show the similarities.
