Spider-Man 3 Actress Attacked Over Cab
Wow. What’s really good?
While celebrating the release of her short film, Love for Passion, Spider-Man 3 actress La Rivers wound up with a bloody broken nose and a lawsuit filed against a Manhattan nightclub owner.
Page Six reports that Rivers is suing Edward Moffett, manager of Beautique, an ultra-glam millionaire restaurant and nightclub. In the lawsuit, filed at the Manhattan Supreme Court on Wednesday, she claimed that the manager was drunk and allegedly pushed her to the ground over a cab.
In a press conference held outside of the supreme court, the actress expressed, “I was assaulted, knocked unconscious and bloodied. Worse than that, I had my sense of safety and security taken away from me.”
Rivers’ attorney, Gloria Allred, stated that her client had only two glasses of wine while at Beautique as her father was visiting from out of town. She added that Rivers was sober when she arrived and left the club.
In addition to the alleged physical attack, Mr. Moffett used vulgar terms toward Rivers.
He now faces criminal assault and harassment charges. However, this is not Moffett’s first run-in with the law. In 2010, the Brooklyn native pleaded guilty to another assault charge followed by a 2011 aggravated harassment charge.
La Rivers is taking action against both the elite nightclub and Moffett for unspecified damages.
It’s no secret that hailing a cab in the streets of New York is tough business, but if claims are true, is it worth such a volatile turn? Nah.
