SMH: Kanye West Edition
We find some of the most ridiculous headlines and let you decide which is worse.
Kanye West is known to say some pretty outlandish things, but his most recent statements top the list.
The rapper raised a lot of eyebrows after he launched some fashion items that bore the infamous Confederate flag. When he sat down with Los Angeles’ 97.1 AMP radio, he was asked about it and here’s what he had to say:
“You know the Confederate flag represented slavery in a way. So I made the song ‘New Slaves.’ I took the Confederate flag and made it my flag. It’s my flag now. Now what you going to do?”
What we’re going to do is call you out on how absurd you sound. The flag is still a controversial and racially charged symbol, and that does not change just because you “made it yours.”
And if you need yet another Kanye-ism for the week, there’s more. Isn’t there always though?
In an effort to pitch his new fiancée Kim Kardashian for the cover of Vogue, the “Can’t Tell Me Nothing” MC dissed our beloved first lady’s fashion sense and challenged her to post an Instagram selfie.
“No one is looking at what [the president] is wearing. Michelle Obama cannot Instagram a [sexy swimsuit] pic like what my girl Instagrammed the other day,” he said during an interview with On Air with Ryan Seacrest.
There’s probably a pretty good reason (we’re going to guess more than one) Mrs. Obama has graced the cover of the fashion magazine and Kim has not.
Bless his heart.
