Shonda Rhimes’ Next Big Project
With the success of scandalous plot twists and soul-wrecking monologues in all three of Shonda Rhimes’ shows on the ABC network, Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal and newbie How to Get Away with Murder, a common question comes to mind: “How does she come up with this stuff!?”
Well, Shondaland loyalists, there’s still no signs of a B613 spin-off, HOWEVER, the creative machine has been penning a new storyline, which will be revealed in November and detailed in her first memoir, Year of the Yes.
Following a signed agreement in November 2013 with publisher Simon & Schuster, the content creator took on a challenge the following month that required her to say “yes” to unexpected invitations that came her way.
“Saying yes for an entire year turned out to be one of the most amazing decisions I have ever made. It was also a little insane, a lot terrifying and sometimes wildly embarrassing,” Rhimes said in a statement.
Year of Yes chronicles the impact saying “yes” had on every aspect of Shonda’s life. The story also reveals the power in saying “yes” and how it can change lives.
If the memoir is anything like the air-gasping shows she creates, it’s sure to be an intriguing and witty page turner.
