Shonda Rhimes to Bring Luvvie Ajayi’s Book to TV
Shondaland just keeps on growing. After producing hit network series like Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal, and How to Get Away With Murder, the company is making a concerted effort to expand into the exciting cable space.
Shonda Rhimes’ production company has acquired the rights to Luvvie Ajayi’s best selling book, I’m Judging You: The Do Better Manual. The book features hilarious and poigant essays on everything from race and politics to pop culture.

A popular blogger turned cultural critic, Luvvie (as she’s called by fans) first caught Rhimes’ attention with her comical and thorough Scandal recaps. After releasing the book, which quickly became a New York Times best seller, the pair brokered a deal (there were multiple other offers on the table) to bring the book to life.
While Ajayi remarked on Facebook that she doesn’t “even have the words to say how geeked I am,” we doubt she’ll be bereft of words for very long.
