Sherri Shepherd Settles Lengthy Divorce
Sherri Shepherd’s lengthy…and nasty divorce and custody battle is finally over.
Shockingly, the former The View co-host has agreed to pay child support to her estranged husband Lamar Sally. She still wants nothing to do with the child, which was conceived through a surrogate.
According to TMZ, the two reached a settlement where Shepherd will pay $4,100 a month in child support. When the child turns 13, the monthly obligation will increase to $4,600.
Sherri fought Lamar hard in court, claiming that her former love defrauded her into getting a surrogate to carry a baby for the purpose of collecting child support.
According to the agreement, Sherri is allowed to pursue her fraud claim. If the appeals court rules in her favor, she is no longer obligated to pay child support.
The couple has embryos in storage, which Sherri wants destroyed. Lamar is undecided on what to do with them, but per the settlement, if he chooses to bring the embryos to term, Sherri will not have to pay child support.
Sherri will also get to hold on to the rights to her show, Funny Mothers, which is currently in development.
