Shemar Moore Makes Campaign Goal

Spike Lee isn’t the only Hollywood personality who’s crowd-sourced funds for his next project. Actor Shemar Moore also successfully raised money for his new film, but it wasn’t with Kickstarter.

After failing to raise enough funds on Kickstarter for his film “The Bounce Back,” the “Criminal Minds” star adjusted his goal from $1.5 million to $500,000 and switched his project to another known crowd-funding site, Indiegogo.

Unlike Kickstarter, Indiegogo allows fundraisers to keep whatever they raise regardless of whether they reach their goals by a set deadline.

Moore was able to meet his target and then some; he obtained $638,483. “I’m blown away with how my fans have rallied,” he said on the campaign page. “Can’t wait to start PRODUCTION!”

The actor will produce and star in the dramedy about a best-selling author overcoming tragedy and finding love again.
