The hip-hop community suffered a tragic loss this weekend. Seattle-based Rapper and YouTube sensation Freddy E was found dead inside of his apartment. The 22-year-old rapper, whose real name was Freddy E. Buhl, was a rising star with a following of over 70,000 YouTube subscribers and 7 million page views. Buhl was also a signed artist with Tyga’s recording label.
According to a family statement posted to Facebook, Buhl died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, “Today, our son, Frederick Eugene Buhl (@freddy_E), age 22 years old, took his own life with a rifle shot to the head,” it reads. “Our family is saddened beyond words; our loss is great; this tragedy is enormous and unforeseen.”
Moments before his death, the rapper wrote a series of alarming, yet cryptic tweets. According to reports, Buhl announced that he was ending his life because of his recent break up with female rapper Honey Cocaine, although she has denied any responsibility for the actions that transpired.
