‘Scandal’ Recap: Red Wine Dialogue
Olivia Pope is back. Hair laid. Style defined and business on deck.
Ms. Shonda Rhimes did not disappoint in the season 4 premiere of Scandal, which now has the world tweeting #TGIT.
An escape with Jake on an island while the sun caressed their skin was temporary bliss. Enjoyable and needed, but temporary. The new season opens with a shot of Olivia Pope or shall I say “Julia Baker” (her alias courtesy of Diahann Carroll’s prominent and classy character in the 1960s television series Julia) sipping wine with a copy of Gone Girl resting next to her.
After some flirty intimacy and pleasure from Jake, “Julia” has mail.
It was only a matter of time before something led the Pope back to Washington and the cause: Harrison’s dead.
And c’mon what’s Scandal without Liv strutting her fancy coats and killer power suits around Washington and handling hot situations? Exaaactly.
Of course, what was supposed to be a few days in D.C. and then back to the sun is put on hold because in the midst of planning a funeral, dealing with Abby’s resentful attitude and being turned away repeatedly by Huck, there’s an almost-death case involving the senator and sexual assault against the senator’s aide.
Olivia Pope is addicted to the “fix.”
And we’re addicted to the fast-talking, plot-twisting and cryptic lifestyles that encompass the politically scandalous world known as B-613 and OPA.
So, without further ado, here’s our round-up of Scandal quotables and reads…
Quinn tracks down Olivia by tracing her love of wine and has it shipped to her on the Island: “Red complex classic red wine ’94 Doublé” – The wine that brought Olivia back to the States.
