Saturday Night Live Spoofs “Empire”

SNL took on Fox’s hit “Empire” Saturday, using the music-filled drama antics for a late night comedy fodder.

But was it funny?

Yes, Kenan Thompson mastered the cracking-cry voice of Terrence Howard, but SNL’s Cookie’s antics were a bit more wanting. It probably wouldn’t hurt not-ready-for-prime-time-player Sasheer Zamata to research the quotable matriarch a bit more.

Nevertheless, in under five-minutes, the SNL crew brought the drama and music while still managing to throw in a loop with Chris Hemsworth as “Empire’s” new hire, Chip.

What did you think of the skit?
