Role Call: Rihanna & More Land New Gigs

Rihanna is heading to the big screen again for a new sci-fi flick titled Valérian and the City of a Thousand Planets.

Based on a French novel set in the 28th century, the story follows a group of two as they time travel across the world.

RiRi’s role hasn’t been announced yet, but the movie is expected to hit theaters in 2017.

While the “We Found Love” singer is gearing up for a new motion picture, Forest Whitaker is preparing to light up the theater stage as the leading man in Hughie.

News about the actor’s Broadway debut was announced back in August, but the location and dates for the production have been recently revealed.

You can catch the star at Booth Theater starting Feb. 25.

As RiRi lands her third film and Forest takes Broadway, comedic-actress, Mo’Nique will be getting in the holiday spirit and joining the likes of Gabrielle Union and Danny Glover in A Meyer’s Christmas.

The holiday-themed comedy, produced by Will Packer, centers around an estranged family who is forced to reconnect and spend their first Christmas together after the death of the family matriarch.

The film is slated for a November 11, 2016 release.
