Rihanna’s somewhat haphazard (depending on who you ask) now notorious ‘777’ tour will be making its worldwide television premiere on Fox in documentary form, May 6, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The film, titled Rihanna 777, is supposed to “give viewers a behind-the-scenes look at her globetrotting concert tour that hit seven countries in seven days with seven shows to promote her seventh album, Unapologetic.”
You remember that time when Rihanna
practically kidnapped packed a group of 256 journalists and fans on a jet plane as she toured seven cities – Mexico City, Toronto, Stockholm, Paris, Berlin, London and New York City – in the span of a week, right? The journalists thought that would be their chance to get up-close-and-personal with the pop superstar, but Rih-Rih holed up in first class instead, and left them all to their own devices. This spawned a series of hilarious tweets (and streaking – yes) from the captives journalists documenting the chaos.
Though not what they had expected, the PR stunt worked and Rihanna’s Unapologetic album shot to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 upon its release.
Maybe with this documentary we’ll finally find out what really went down on Rihannaplane.
