Rihanna To Be Honored at Black Girls Rock! 2016

It’s no secret how badass Rihanna is. Since stepping on the scene in 2005, the Barbadian entertainer has elevated and evolved her style, sound and brand. She rocks in more ways than one.

No stranger to accolades, BadGalRiRi will be honored with the ‘Rock Star Award’ at the 2016 Black Girls Rock! ceremony.

The star will be recognized for her entrepreneurial spirit across the areas of fashion, music, savvy business etiquette, and philanthropic endeavors.

She expressed her appreciated via Twitter.

Adding on to the excitement of the festive evening, this year’s ceremony, hosted by the hilarious Tracee Ellis Ross, comes as part of the 10-year-anniversary celebration of the Beverly Bonds-created Black Girls Rock! platform.

In a statement to BET, Bonds wrote, “I am proud t hat Black Girls Rock! is at the forefront of a new women’s empowerment movement inspiring women of color to define ourselves, to own our magic, to share our truth, to elevate our own narratives, to celebrate our brilliance and resilience, and to love ourselves fiercely.”
