Real Friends? Kid Cudi Takes on Kanye West

It’s only Wednesday and somehow, Kid Cudi has managed to shake up the music industry by airing out his feelings in a series of Tweets.

Who is Kid Cudi aiming at? Kanye West and Drake, arguably two of today’s biggest rap stars. Now if you remember, Kid Cudi was once the musical right hand to Mr. West. But things have changed, and Cudi was unapologetic about his stance.

While we were perusing the tweets today, we couldn’t help  but to think about these Hip Hop friendships gone wrong:

Dame Dash and Jay-Z

Dame Dash The Real

The demise of Roc-A-Fella records was a split that’s STILL felt in the music industry. So much so that when Dame visited The Breakfast Club just last year, the mention of his former best friend generated of the most talked about moments in 2015.

Cudi and Lupe

2015 also saw many socially conscious rappers at odds helming from comments made by Lupe Fiasco in defense of Kendrick Lamar’s opinion regarding Ferguson protests. Take a look at how it went down, here.

Eazy E & NWA

The ‘World’s Most Dangerous Rap Group’ saw its fair share of drama. Having started off as friends, the group grew apart once Ice Cube left due to mismanagement of money. Dr. Dre soon followed suit and both MCs left diss records in their path. While they were close to reconciliation, the untimely death of Eazy E didn’t give them a chance to make up.

50 and Young Buck

No one is off limits for 50 Cent. If he’ll go after his former girlfriend, who’s to say he won’t get into it with his friends?

Pac and Biggie

While we don’t want any beef to reach this point, the battle between Tupac and Biggie will go down as the most prominent feud in Hip-Hop history. Yesterday marked twenty years since Tupac’s death, here’s to hoping that the Cudi/Kanye/Drake will stay in the music.

Do you think Kanye or Drake will respond?
