Pebbles Files $40 Million Lawsuit
While it appears that everyone involved in VH1’s CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story that aired one year ago has moved one, there’s one person who still isn’t happy about the biopic and continues to handle her distaste with a legal army.
Perri “Pebbles” Reid, the former manager of TLC and an artist herself once upon a time, has filed a $40 million lawsuit against VIACOM claiming defamation of character for her portrayal in the 2013 film.
In the made-for-TV movie, in which TLC members, Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas and Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins had creative input, Pebbles feels the production displayed her as a “conniving and dishonest” businesswoman who exploited the talents of three young women.
The financial crisis that TLC dealt with throughout their career has been public for years, even dating back to a VH1 interview where Lisa “Lefteye” Lopes broke down the math on how a group that sold 11 million records, toured, won awards etc…could still end up filing for bankruptcy.
It is quite interesting as to why Pebbles is going so hard with this lawsuit and carrying on her outrage about the biopic.
What are your thoughts: should Pebbles drop the lawsuit and move on with her life as the head of ‘Women of God Changing Lives‘ or follow through with the lawsuit and try to receive some coins? Sound off in the comments!
