SEEKING ASYLUM

This documentary is about Black Americans, particularly the flick’s director Darnell Lamont Walker, who are escaping American tyranny. He wrote, “It was April [2015] in the states. I had a ticket to backpack through Europe with friends in hopes of making it to Amsterdam for King’s Day, and Freddie Gray had just been killed by police in Baltimore, Maryland. Being raised not far from Baltimore and feeling very connected to the situation due to a racially-motivated run-in I had with the law several years ago that left me face down with a gun on my head, I strongly reconsidered my trip to stay and march in the streets. My friend, Terrence, who’d just learned of my trip two days before departure, asked, ‘Why are you going to Europe? To seek asylum? Perfect!’”

THE SIN SEER

From a young age, Rose Ricard has been blessed with a special gift. Looking into a person’s soul, she can see the lies they try to hide. Now, using her uncanny ability, Rose works as a private investigator, solving “cold” cases the police can’t unravel. With her new partner, ex-con Grant Summit, Rose takes on a deadly case that follows close on the heels of a murderer and threatens to reveal long-buried secrets from her own past. Rose’s divine gift may wind up being a curse that makes her the target of the killer she never saw coming. The amazing cast includes Richard Brooks, C. Thomas Howell, Salli Richardson-Whitfield, Gregory Alan Williams and Michael Ironside.
