It’s election day and millions of people are heading to the polls across the nation to cast their vote for the next president. While this cycle has been extremely contentious and many are nervous about today’s outcome, the folks on Twitter are taking a moment to celebrate our current POTUS, Barack Obama, and his awesome family.
Though #ObamaDay has been used before, Twitter user @ReignOfApril resurrected it Monday night to pay homage to the Obamas.
Would making tomorrow #ObamaDay be disrespectful? Like, with loving memes and pics and videos and remembrances and stuff? #AskingForAFriend

After sharing some of her favorite memories, other users joined in and made #ObamaDay one of the top trending topics in the U.S. The result? A beautiful tribute to the first Black family to inhabit the White House.
Take a look at some of our favorite tweets from the nostalgic hashtag.
