Many in the music industry are mourning the death of tour manager De’Von Pickett.
Pickett, a 29-year-old native of the Bronx, was working on Nicki Minaj’s upcoming tour when he was stabbed to death after a bar fight in early Wednesday morning. Pickett was killed outside of the Che Bar & Grill in Philadelphia’s West Oak Lane neighborhood. He was at the bar with his friend Eric Reed, 27, and three others when around 2:35 a.m. an argument erupted between the friends and another group of men.
In his entertainment career, Pickett had worked with some of the biggest names in the industry, he was a former tour manager for K. Michelle, and worked with Justin Timberlake, Fabolous and Rihanna.
Minaj talked about the death on social media.
Two members of my team were stabbed last night in Philly. One was killed. They had only been there for two days rehearsing for the tour.

Said a cousin of Pickett’s: “He was a great guy. He didn’t deserve this. He set an example for a lot of guys in this industry and it’s sad to see this happen.”
