Nicki Minaj Not Allowed to Visit Alma Mater

There is no denying that Nicki Minaj is at the top of her game. Whether you rock with her raunchy “Anaconda” or vibe to the “Pills N Potion” softer side of the femcee, her fan base is massive.

But it appears that serves as no precedence when it comes to her alma mater, LaGuardia High School in New York.

When a celebrity reaches a certain level of success or feel they’ve “made it,” the usual visit to their hometown and high school become a part of their plan and efforts to give back to the neighborhoods and folk that raised them.

Ideally, Nicki, birth name Onika, wanted to visit the school to “pay it forward” because the school changed her life, she tweeted. But to her surprise, the school’s principal, along with New York’s Department of Education, denied her request and released a statement to the Grio that expressed their policies regarding the privacy and protection of students and not allowing “reality TV to be filmed on school property.”

Her Barbz jumped on deck with the swiftness in her defense after the rap star turned to social media to express her disappointment and tweeted: “I guess I’m not good enough.”
