Nia Long to Star in ‘The Divide’

Nia Long is having quite the year.

Following the success of The Best Man Holiday and the buzz surrounding her upcoming project, The Single Mom’s Club, WE tv has just announced Long will star in the network’s first scripted series, The Divide.

In the show, which will premiere in 2014, Long plays Billie Page, the wife of district attorney Adam Page, who is played by Damon Gupton of Prime Suspect and Deadline.

According to the network, the show is ” an exploration of personal morality and how all people – especially ambitious people – struggle with the shades of grey found in the absence of a simple, ordered moral universe.”

Richard LaGravenese and Tony Goldwyn of Scandal fame co-created the show and will executive produce the series along with John Tinker. Goldwyn is expected to direct the pilot.
