NFL Can Watch “Concussion” for Free

The NFL is receiving a special treat this holiday season because Sony is offering free admission to athletes and their families to see Concussion

Starring Will Smith, the drama follows Dr. Bennett Omalu, a scientist who discovers chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), a football-related brain trauma.

His finding leaves him at the center of a grueling battle against the league, but his passion for the truth encourages him to keep fighting.

“This is a movie for the players, so we wanted to give them a chance to see it before its nationwide release and free admission during its run in theaters,” reads a statement from producers Ridley Scott and Giannina Scott. “The movie is so inspiring…We think the players will enjoy watching this movie about Dr. Omalu’s incredible courage — courage that changed the game.”

To take advantage of the complimentary passes, athletes must present their NFLPA membership card at any Cinemark nationwide.

Concussion hits theaters Christmas Day.  Will you be checking it out?
