The NFL is receiving a special treat this holiday season because Sony is offering free admission to athletes and their families to see Concussion.
Starring Will Smith, the drama follows Dr. Bennett Omalu, a scientist who discovers chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), a football-related brain trauma.
His finding leaves him at the center of a grueling battle against the league, but his passion for the truth encourages him to keep fighting.
“This is a movie for the players, so we wanted to give them a chance to see it before its nationwide release and free admission during its run in theaters,” reads a statement from producers Ridley Scott and Giannina Scott. “The movie is so inspiring…We think the players will enjoy watching this movie about Dr. Omalu’s incredible courage — courage that changed the game.”
To take advantage of the complimentary passes, athletes must present their NFLPA membership card at any Cinemark nationwide.
