New Tribe Called Quest Album Dropping in Nov.
Get ready for some new hip-hop from one of rap’s most legendary groups. After nearly two decades and the passing of Malik “Phife Dawg” Taylor, A Tribe Called Quest is putting out a new–and final–album.
Q-Tip made the announcement Thursday night on Twitter, explaining the men decided to reunite for another project after appearing on The Tonight Show last November.

Last year this time myself, Jarobi, Ali, and Phife had the extreme pleasure of performing on The Tonight Show. It was our first TV performance in 18 years. The energy for us that night was one that we hadn’t experienced on stage together in some time! It was also the night of the Paris bombing…November 13th…Friday…an unseasonably warm night in NYC. As we left 30 Rock I felt the need, we all did, to get back in the studio and start that cook up!! So we got to it!!
It was coming together nicely and as you may know we lost our brother, may God rest his soul, on March 22. But he left us with the blueprint of what we had to do.
According to Q-Tip, the album, which will also feature frequent Tribe collaborators Busta Rhymes and Consequence, will be filled with completely new “pure uncut” rhymes from Phife. It will be the group’s first album together since 1998’s The Love Movement.
Though the men have had their troubles throughout the years, which led to the breakup of the group, they were able to patch up their relationship and get back into the studio before Phife passed away.
Fans are already eagerly anticipating the new album, which will be released on November 11.
We can’t wait.
