BET Drops Trailer for New Edition Film & It’s GOOD

Get ready New Edition fans. Production just wrapped on BET’s upcoming miniseries, and judging by the film’s first trailer, it’s going to be good.

Before director Chris Robinson yelled, “Wrap!” JET visited the set to get the inside scoop on the project, and so far everyone is excited.

“I can’t wait for the people to see it,” Bobby Brown said after Sunday’s BET Awards. “When you see these actors, it’s going to blow your mind.”

The film stars Empire’s Bryshere Gray (Michael Bivins), Elijah Kelley (Ricky Bell), Algee Smith (Ralph Tresvant), Keith Powers (Ronnie Devoe), R&B singer Luke James (Johnny Gill), and newcomer Woody McClain (Bobby Brown).

While the cast had some seriously famous shoes to fill, Brown–along with the rest of his New Edition brethren–were extremely impressed.

“I didn’t think anybody was able to play me…but it was a beautiful sight to see,” Brown said.

Even though he’s on a hit TV show, Gray said taking on the role of a musical legend was a lot of responsibility.

“It’s such a blessed situation,” he said, noting he shadowed Bivins for two weeks so he’d get it right. “I don’t want to mess it up at all.”

During Sunday’s BET Awards, the network rolled out the first trailer for the biopic, which will take viewers through all of the twists and turns of the legendary group.

While many NE diehards have super high expectation from the project, the first look definitely delivers.

Take a look.
