Ne-Yo’s Artist RaVaughn Recounts NYFW

Attending NYFW (New York Fashion Week) has been amazing! There are so many things going on, I don’t know what to do with myself. I’ve been in New York since Saturday and I can’t believe it’s Wednesday already. As soon as I landed, I hit the ground running, attending Sammy B’s show where my girl Elle Varner opened up. I love seeing young women working together and doing it successfully.  As I sit here trying to remember all the shows I’ve attended so far, it’s all a blur – from the shows, to the outfit changes, hair and makeup.

The U.S. Open was going on during all of this and my big brother/mentor Ne-Yo was singing, so I could not miss that! We were in a suite with Carrie Bradshaw… I mean, Sarah Jessica Parker and her family. Watching Serena up close was incredible!

I’ve hit some shows and events with my girl, Adrienne Bailon, who’s totally in to all things fashion, so it’s been a blast! We went to so many parties –UsWeekly, Paper Mag, En Noir, and more! One of my favorite moments though was being a part of the Hair Textures private dinner at the Mondrian Soho. Sitting and chatting with 25-30 African-American women was so empowering and humbling.

I perform Wednesday night at the Frontrow Fashion Show and I’m amped! I absolutely adore the line because anyone who knows me, knows I love leather!!! My Compound and Columbia fam will be in attendance and I can’t wait!!! Kinda bummed Thursday is the last day, but I’m inspired and ready to go back home and get my fall/winter gear ready  🙂
